Giamatti is a Stooge!

The Boston Globe is letting us know that the Farrelly's Bro's have found a replacement, now that Sean Penn has left, to play Larry on their take of the Three Stooges film.

The Replacement? Paul Giamatti.

On the other side while Benicio Del Toro is still up to play Moe, Jim Carrey will not be playing Curly.

I definitely do not know in which direction the Farrelly's Bro's are taking this but if it's anything like their other movies...

Doesn't that picture look like Paul Giamatti's take on a psychotic Larry...? That can be a a direction to take the movie in...any takers?

It's Friday! Time for Expensive Escape

This Week there seems to be a movie opening for everyone to see.

For the Women: Mix a little Merly Streep and Amy Adams and add amazing food and you get a delicious new comedy about famous French chef Julia Child and the blogger, Julie Powell, who tackles her cookbook.

For the Guys: Mix big explosions with hot chicks in leather and terrible dialogue and you get G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra.

For the Kids: Um...I guess you can give repeat views to G-Force...right? I mean who doesn't love talking furry pets?

Next Week: Aliens, Time-traveling guys and their annoyed wives, Vanessa Hudgens and her band, and docs about love.

John Hughes Dead at 59.

John Hughes, director of such classics like The Breakfast Club, Sixteen Candles, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, and Uncle Buck, passed away this morning at the age of 59.

Apparently Hughes suffered a heart attack while taking a morning walk during a trip to Manhattan.

John Hughes seemed to capture teen angst perfectly in his films that ruled the eighties.

Hughes is survived by his wife and two sons.

R.I.P

Peter Jackson Goes to Heaven.

Relax Supernerds! Your beloved Peter Jackson is not dead.

But the trailer for the anticipated film "The Lovely Bones" has finally been released. The trailer features a lot of crying and yelling and a very creepy Stanley Tucci.

The Lovely Bones which will be released on December 11 (Hello Oscars!) features a cast of Mark Wahlberg, Rachel Weisz, Susan Sarandon, and Saoirse Ronan as Susie Salmon.

Mother's Day..."Done" Right

I just wanted to take the time to wish all the Mother's out there a Happy Mother's Day...even those Celeb-Moms.

-Dina Lohan- Not sure she's getting any gifts.

-Angelina Jolie- She'll get one gift from each child. So she'll get about 33 gifts...I need to stop with these jokes.

-Soon-Yi Previn- She will be receiving a gift from her husband and dad...which unfortunately is the same person...I'm looking at you Woody Allen.

-Bristol Palin- (insert mean-spirited joke here)

And make sure to click on the link below to see the latest SNL Short about Mother's Day.

Jen's Revenge...Sort of

According to WENN Blog, Jennifer Aniston is on board with Gerard Butler, (who is usually on board with most chicks) on a movie that seems very similar to Mr. & Mrs. Smith.

Aniston "plays a journalist on the run from her hitman ex-husband (Butler) after he's instructed to kill her."

Maybe this is Jen's way of sticking it to Brad and make him regret ever leaving her...though I think Brad feels that everytime Angelina adopts another kid...or kids.
Two points for outdated Angelina adoption jokes.

Gordan-Levitt Accepts Inception.

According to The Hollywood Reporter Joseph Gordon-Levitt will be joining the Christopher Nolan film, Inception.

Levitt joins a cast that already sports Leonardo Dicaprio, Ellen Page, Cillian Murphy, and Oscar winner Marion Cotillard.
Right now, it seems that everything that Nolan touches turns to gold so it will be interesting to see if this film follows suit.

I'm interested in seeing all those fan boys salivating at when Nolan might do the next Batman. Patience geeks...patience.

Parks and Recreation

My Review on "Parks and Recreation" after 2 episodes: Pretty Good. (Insert clever term later.)

I started watching Parks and Recreation as a way to make up for completely missing the boat on "The Office." And even though I've watched The Office and think it's better, I feel Parks holds their own pretty good.

It features SNL's Amy Poehler, Rashida Jones, Paul Schneider, and more. So I think I'll give it a few more episodes to see if I'm gonna stay on track and continue to watch it. I'm sure you're all at the edge of your seat.

I've also been watching some Arrested Development on Hulu (free shows rock!) I just wanted to see what the fuss was about and it's actually really good. I can see why people think it was canceled way before it's time. But hey, Two and a half men is still on...any takers...I didn't so.

Zac Efron Wants to Grow Up

This past weekend on Saturday Night Live, Zac Efron decided to get even more exposure by hosting it. In the opening monogulue poked fun at his fans and than went on to act in some skits were...dare I say...made me crack up a bit.

I'm guessing he wants to shake off his tween status by starring in more grown up roles. Like the upcoming film 17 again...bad example...oh I know, according to L.A. Times Zac is going to play Jonny Quest...a Hanna-Barbera cartoon from the sixties...another bad example.

Well Zac did recently say that he wants to be like Leonardo Dicaprio. Step one: Learn how to act.

Burn...hmm...wow...hating on this guy really makes me feel better.

Mission Accomplished.

It's a Date!

According to Variety, Mark Wahlberg and James Franco are joining Steve Carell and Tina Fey in "Date Night."

Date Night revolves around a married couple (Carell,Fey) who's "date night" becomes much more than dinner and a movie." I don't know what that means but Steve Carell is in it so it should be funny. And since Wahlberg is in it I hope there is a lot of funny one liners filled with lots of swearing and "badass-ness."

Speaking about dates, apparently Chris Brown is already seeing another woman. Brown states that since he was "looking to play a young Mike Tyson in a bio-pic, he thought it would be nice to start practicing"...bite, bite.

Speaking about biting...um...Samantha Ronson was already seen with another woman who happened to look similar to Lindsay Lohan. In retaliation, Lindsay did the same by dating Elijah Wood...who also looks like Ronson...I think...

Perfect.

Let's Fix Lindsay Lohan's Career!

Recently we learned that Lindsay Lohan's new movie "Labor Pains" was going straight to TV. Another "painful" blow to Lohan's career. But I think there are a few ways to get Lindsay's career back on the right track.

1) Hook up with Tina Fey again (not that way Lindsay, don't get excited) Lohan's last hit was the Tina Fey written "Mean Girls." I'm sure Tina could get you a role on 30 Rock...or at least a role in getting coffee for her.

2) Tell the world that all your crazy antics have all been research for a new role. Call Joaquin Phoenix for some pointers.

3) Star in a Reality TV show were you look for love. You can have 20 DJ"s all vying for your love.

4) Pull a Rourke/Downey Jr. Start by doing a few more DUI's followed by completely causing more ruckus on sets, than go to rehab, then disappear...only to reappear later in a big Oscar role...like playing a down an out ice skater who gets one last shot for gold!

5) If those fail...well I guess...Dancing with the Stars is always an option.

Expendables Expand

Looks like another 2 pieces has been added to what is Sylvester Stallone's steroid packed action film.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Brittany Murphy and David Zayas have been reeled in by Sly to join his film that already includes Mickey Rourke, Jet Lee, Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham and...basically more actors you've seen time and time again playing the same roles.

While Zayas play a dictator, Murphy is going to play...Mickey Rourke's...girlfriend.

Seriously? Mickey...How do you do it?

In "The Wrestler" you had Evan Rachel Wood and Marisa Tomei. In Iron Man 2 your going to get "stuck" with Scarlett Johansson, a few days ago we heard you're going to work with Megan Fox...and the list goes on and on.

I guess women do really love bad boys...who really love dogs...and sunglasses...and who had aspirations to be a boxer...so that's the secret!

Vin Diesel Returns to the Glory Land

The Plan Worked Vin. Return to what you're good at and enjoy the reward.

The Reward? Watching your movie "Fast and Furious" rack up over 70 million dollars over the weekend. Biggest April Opening ever.

Next up? A plan that is supposed to bring back your character Xander Cage from your other big hit XXX. Man this feels like 2001-2002 again.

Do yourself and Paul Walker a favor and just keeping making Fast and the Furious movies. You can make at least five or six more with the same concept. Like the Police Academy movies.

You know what would be a bigger feat? Keeping the number one spot next week when Hannah Montana and certifiably insane pre-teen girls come to the theatre.

Good Luck.

Bale and Wahlberg: Badass-ness to the Max!

According to the Risky Biz Blog, Christian Bale has signed and will join Mark Wahlberg in "Prisoners"

Prisoners follows a father who "takes the law into his on hand" after his daughter and her friend are kidnapped and he feels a detective put in charge of the investigation is not doing all he can.

My bet is on Mark Walhberg playing the detective since he has that role pretty much on lockdown (The Departed, Max Payne, We Own the Night) Hell if he's good at it...why change?

So I'm guessing Bale will take on the role of the crazed dad.

And besides i think they could of thought of a better name than Prisoners...maybe...Taken 2. I think I hit that on the head.

Who Would You Rather Party With?

It looks like Lily Allen (top pic) decided to pull a page out of Lindsay Lohan's "How to Look Good Passing Out," Book.

The Question is who would you rather party with? Granted we know they both are gonna end up super drunk and probably...no definitely pass out.

So I guess the real question is who would you rather party with knowing you would have to look after one of them after they hit the ground.

My Pick? I would probably go with Lily Allen because I know Samantha Ronson would tag along with Lindsay...well I guess it would depend on whether their together that week or not.

And beside theirs something about drunk girls with heavy British accents that get me going.

I Think I Want 2 Dropkick John Mayer

Whatever happened to the John Mayer who wanted to "run through the halls of his high school?" Or the John Mayer that proudly stated some chick's "body was a wonderland?"
Sure he was sort of a douche, but now he has completely broken the lever on the douchebag scale.
I guess all the weird facial expressions he does on stage is just more of his douche-ness fighting to be release.
Some of the things he says are ridiculous, he's usually wearing some outrageous outfit. And apparently now he was dumped because he was "addicted" to Twitter.

Speaking about being dumped, how in the world does Johnny May get all those chicks. My theory is that his songs put women in a temporary trance. And once the trance wears off he moves on to his next victim.
Dam It! Why do his songs have to be so catchy!
Will dropkicking John Mayer make him less of a douchebag? Probably Not. But it will make me feel better.

And your next Spencer Pratt.

It's Friday: Time for Overpriced Tickets and Popcorn!

There are two movies opening wide today: Fast and Furious and Adventureland.

FAST AND FURIOUS: Looks like Vin Diesel and Paul Walker both had the light bulb on their head turned on again because they've decided to go back to what made them big in the first place...mindless action movies. This time around the "the" is dropped from the title because people nowadays do not have the time to say extra words...Fast and Furious will do just fine...so will fast cars, big explosions and hot chicks. God I love America

ADVENTURELAND: This "how a summer changed my life" movie stars Jesse Eisenberg (who?) and Kristen Stewart (Oh! the Twilight Chick!) In the movie Eisenberg's character spends his summer before graduate school in a down and out amusement park...and...discovers himself...I guess. Ryan Reynolds and Bill Hader join in on the fun as well. Greg Mottola directed this (Superbad) but there will be no Mclovin appearance...unfortunately.

Check in Next Friday when "Hannah Montana: The Movie," and "Dragonball: Evolution" are released signifying the first sign of the End of Days.

Megan Fox is an Angel?

So according to Riskybuisnessblog.com, Megan Fox is attached to play an angel who makes her way to a "down on his heels," trumpet player played by Mickey Rourke. Apparently Mickey Rourke's character attempts to save the "angel" from a gangster.

Yea...I know...my thoughts exactly.

I understand Mickey Rourke's down an out character (see the Wrestler) but Megan Fox as an angel?

If this is true than I want to be first in line to die... no seriously...kill me...I wonder what she had to do to get her wings...I'm just saying.

ER...I Hardly Watched You

So Tonight ER is set to reveal the series finale in the Medical Drama that's been on the air way before Hollywood latched on to George Clooney and decided to never let go.

I actually remember watching ER when I was younger when it was at it's peak. Now it feels like it's been on the air forever. And over the years there's been a few knock-offs...I'm looking at you Grey's Anatomy.

Even though only the die hard fans have stayed tuned in all these years, I do think it's only right to pay tribute to the fantastic show that was created by the late and great Michael Crichton. A show that has had longevity and popularity through out many years, which is tough for any show to do nowadays.
So from Anthony Edwards all the way to John Stamos and everyone else in between.
So long ER.
I hardly watched you...buy I definitely knew you.
